CallCentric is a reputable VoIP carrier that provide Calling Card access to their VoIP network. This means you can make calls from regular phones at VoIP rates.

Just dial one of their local area access numbers.
In the UK, they have local access numbers in London and Dublin.

Just sign-up online through their web site. No contracts, no commitments, no extra fees, no strings. They are strictly pay-as-you-go service – no monthly fees. Their rates from a regular phone to anywhere in USA, Canada, UK, France, Spain, is only 1.98ยข.min.

Can you use a calling card on a cruise?

Question by sweet n’ sassy: Can you use a calling card on a cruise?
I am planning for a cruise and I was wondering if you can use a calling card from the phones in the rooms. I will be traveling with Royal Caribbean cruise lines. I know that you can use their phones to make calls but it costs almost $ 8.00 a minute. Any information would be appreciated.

Boy, that would be a great idea. However, the answer is NO.

The cruiselines have you by the short and curlies when it comes to making phone calls from the ship. It is around $ 8 per minute plus a set-up fee. No calling cards can be used.

Their Internet rates for email is just about as expensive. You are charged around 75 cents per minute or you can buy a package of 30, 60, or 100 minutes and the per minute rate goes down slightly.

You can also wait until you get to a port and make your phone calls using a calling card when you are on shore. You can also find very inexpensive Internet shops to access your email. I used one in Mexico at the rate of $ 1 per hour. I was on it for a half hour and was charged 50 cents. I bought a beer with the other 50 cents.

No you wont, as long as they use the calling card to call you. If an operator asks if you will accept charges, that means they didn’t use the calling card. The card is prepaid for a certain amount of minutes so you won’t have to worry about that.
